Our Programmes

Early Childhood Education is a branch of education that relates to the education of children from birth to the age of eight. This 6 months course trains the participants in teaching techniques from early years to junior classes. This course gives a detailed description and addresses practical issues faced by teachers in the classroom. The course outline is selected by minute scrutiny which allows the teacher to be an effective one.

Admissions

Regent Institute of Early Childhood Education and Development provides convenient open enrolments for all of its online courses. Prior to completing an admissions application, in its entirety try to familiarize yourself with our policies and procedures, as well as your responsibilities as a student.

Application and Payment
For your convenience, all payment can be made through direct transfer to the designated bank.

You can make a credit card payment through a check. Full payment for the course(s) is due after your application is processed and prior to beginning the course(s).

Enrolment Requirements for the ECCE Online Programme

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older

  2. Must possess a High/Secondary School Certificate (WASSC/SSCE or equivalent)

  3. Proof of current certification in Infant and Child First Aid and CPR

  4. Must be able to speak, read, and write well enough in English to understand and complete the  course material

Programme Start and Completion Date
Regent Institute of Early Childhood Education and Development online training programme can be started anytime with the ECCE's convenient rolling enrolment. The programme is self-paced and can be completed in as little as seven (7) months; however, students have one (1) year from their enrolment date to successfully complete the programme.

Textbook Requirement
Students are required to study carefully the textbooks that will be sent online and watch the videos.

BLS/ACLS

When you strip everything down and simply view them in their most basic form, both ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) possess the same objective – learning the proper techniques to aid in saving the life of someone in cardiac arrest. However, there are many differences between the two courses that regulate how this overarching objective is met.

BENEFITS
After completing the course, you may find a counselling position in a pre-primary school. After completing the course, the learner will be directly involved with early childhood teaching at a competitive salary.

COURSE STRUCTURE:
The course consists of 150 hours and is arranged in 50 sessions. It is organized into four modules separated by a 1 week module break. So in all there would be 3 breaks of 1 week each during the course.

Certificate Course

First Aid/CPR Course

This Paediatric First Aid training course will teach those who work with infants or children how to deliver paediatric first aid assistance in an emergency. It covers a variety of fundamental first aid topics, including the law surrounding first aid, how to carry out primary and secondary surveys, how to put children and infants into the recovery position, how to administer life-saving CPR, how to use defibrillators, and how to provide assistance for a variety of injuries and illnesses.

The course contains a number of videos, illustrations, and downloadable resources to help aid your learning during the course and beyond. Upon completion of the training, you will gain the confidence to take appropriate action in a range of situations, from minor incidents to life-threatening accidents, and know when to seek further medical advice if required.

Paediatric First Aid/CPR Course ( Infant and Child First Aid and CPR)

This course is for people who work with young children and those working towards an early years educator qualification. It meets the Early Years and Childcare requirements.

Health and Safety Training

The health and safety course is designed to provide create awareness of key health and safety issues. This allows participants to understand the role everyone plays in ensuring a safe working environment. Our course covers the entire framework for staying healthy and safe at work. Discussions take a look at environmental, occupational, and human factors that affect people in the workplace. Training begins with an understanding of basic definitions. We will then move on to the common causes of injuries and ill health in the workplace and finding out what controls can be put in place.
